From May 10th to 11th, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) organized an expert group on Quality Accreditation of Higher Vocational Education for International Students to carry out an on-site review at Jinhua Polytechnic.
The expert group was led by Zhou Yan, former deputy secretary-general of CEAIE and He Pei, director of Education Service Certification Department. Hanweichun, former dean of International College of University of International Business and Economics as a team leader, and Gong Fanghong, secretary of the Party Committee of Wuxi Institute of Technology, Ju Changzhi, vice-president of Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Commerce, and Li Xingzhi, minister of International Education Department of Beijing Information Technology College, as members. Du Jian, first-level researcher of International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, President Liang Kedong and other members of the party committee leadership team, heads of functional departments and relevant secondary schools, teachers and representatives of international students attended the on-site review activities.
At the on-site review meeting, Liang Kedong, Du Jian, Zhou Yan and Gong Fanghong made speeches, and Vice President Chen Hairong gave a comprehensive report to the expert group on the international student education and the self-evaluation and self-correction of the accreditation.
During the on-site review, the accreditation expert group interviewed the school leaders in charge of international students and the main members of the management departments, the heads of the relevant functional departments and secondary schools, the representatives of international student teachers and international student representatives, inspected the relevant archives of international student enrollment, teaching and management, and observed on-site teaching of the courses of PLC Programming, Live E-commerce and Oral Chinese, and visited the mechanical and electrical practical training courses. They made on-site inspections to places where international students study, train and live, such as electromechanical training room, college students’ activity center, China’s national condition education studio, international students’ apartment, etc., and visited the school history museum to gain a deeper understanding of the school’s work on education for students studying abroad in China.
At the on-site feedback meeting, the members of the expert group expressed their feedback respectively, and Liang Kedong made a statement.
It is reported that the quality certification of higher vocational education for international students is a qualitative assessment of the quality of education for international students commissioned by the Ministry of Education to be carried out by the CEAIE in colleges and universities nationwide, and since the start of the certification of higher vocational colleges and universities in 2019, 37 higher vocational colleges and universities have already taken the initiative to apply to participate in the certification.
