On the afternoon of August 20th, a group of 38 participants from the training program on enhancing governance capacity of universities for developing countries visited Jinhua University of Vocational Technology . Vice President Chen Hairong attended the event and delivered a speech. The participants were from 11 different countries, including South Africa, Iraq, Thailand, Ethiopia, Gambia, Mongolia, Solomon Islands, Türkiye, Afghanistan, Tanzania, and Mauritius.
Chen Hairong warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the basic situation of JUVT and the current status of international education to them. He said that vocational education is closely linked to economic and social development and people's lives. The role and value of vocational education exchanges and cooperation in the global exchange and mutual learning of civilizations are becoming more and more apparent. He hoped that they would make full use of the platform of this training program, actively explore exchanges and sincerely share experiences. At the same time, he hoped that this training program would find opportunities to cooperate to carry out professional education cooperation, humanities and scientific research cooperation, teacher training cooperation and resource sharing cooperation, promote exchanges and cooperation in vocational and technical education between China and foreign countries, and empower international production capacity cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Saad Khalis Essa Essa, Assistant Professor of the University of Erbil Polytechnic in Iraq, spoke as a representative of the participants of the training program.
The group of participants also visited the Intelligent Precision Manufacturing Industrial Park, Virtual Simulation Training Center, and Simulation Hospital through on-site teaching, interactive practice and other ways, enabling them to deeply learn and experience the modern vocational education concepts and concrete practices, such as integration of industry and education, competition and cooperation, as well as theoretical and practical learning of JUVT.
It is reported that the training program is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by Zhejiang Normal University, and lasts for 14 days. Through on-site teaching and cultural inspections, the program provides a comprehensive and three-dimensional understanding of the current development status of China.
