Zhu Gangguo, male, Han ethnicity, was born in October 1978 and is from Jindong District, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. He holds a doctoral degree and is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and leading talent in scientific and technological innovation of the Zhejiang Provincial Ten Thousand Talent Program. From 1996 to 2000, he studied at the Department of Chemistry of Zhejiang Normal University and finally received a Bachelor of Science. From 2000 to 2005, he studied at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and finally received a Doctor of Science. From 2005 to 2007, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Purdue University. From 2007 to 2008, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University.
He joined Zhejiang Normal University at the end of 2008 and has served successively as Vice Dean and Dean of the College of Chemistry and Life Sciences, and Dean of the College of Chemistry and Materials Science.
He is primarily engaged in research on radical chemistry, organic fluorine chemistry, and the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates. He has led five national funding projects, five provincial and ministerial-level projects, including distinguished youth and key projects, and four cross-disciplinary projects. He has published over 90 papers in prestigious journals such as Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Chemical Science. His accolades include the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award, the third prize in the Natural Science Awards of Zhejiang Province, and the first prize for outstanding scientific research achievements at universities in Zhejiang Province.
