Waikato International College Held Second Meeting of the Third Joint Management Committee

On the morning of October 9, Waikato International College convened the second meeting of its Third Joint Management Committee. Attendees included Huia Noni Haeata, Regional Executive Directorof Waikato Institute of Technology(Wintec), Mark Liu, Cross-border Education Manager, and Nathan Dunbar, Project Manager, Zhang Enning, Director of AZC International Education Exchange Center, Liang Kedong, President of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology(JUVT), Zhu Gangguo, Vice President, as well as heads of the International Cooperation Department, Finance Department, Waikato International College, Information Engineering College, and Design College. The leadership team of Waikato International College, relevant department heads, and faculty representatives also participated. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Chen Hairong.

President Liang Kedong congratulated Huia on her appointment as Executive Director of Wintec. He noted that Waikato International College, as a crucial pillar in JUVT's internationalization efforts, has developed a project-based teaching model centered on Technology + Art specialty clusters with linguistic characteristics. He suggested further strengthening cooperation between the two institutions to enhance the educational quality of Waikato International College.

Huia first acknowledged the educational achievements of Waikato International College over the past decade, reiterating the importance of this partnership for Wintec's long-term development. Furthermore, Huia expressed sincere expectations for future collaboration, hoping that both parties could deepen their cooperation, broaden areas of collaboration, and jointly explore more diverse and profound cooperation models.

During the meeting, discussions and voting took place on matters concerning Waikato International College's organizational structure, cooperative education, and management regulations. The meeting elected a new Joint Management Committee with Liang Kedong as Director and Huia as Deputy Director. The new committee approved Qiu Xiaohua as the Dean of Waikato International College. Regarding continued cooperation between the Chinese and New Zealand parties, the Joint Management Committee unanimously voted to approve the signing of a continued cooperative education agreement by Liang Kedong and Huia, with all committee members signing a resolution for continued cooperative education. Subsequently, in consideration of the college's operational realities and the development of both institutions, the Joint Management Committee unanimously voted to amend the Waikato International College Charter and jointly signed the Jinhua Polytechnic Waikato International College Charter (Revised Edition).
