Recently, Chen Xiaoping, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a delegation to investigate the construction and operation of the Rwanda Luban Workshop. Dr. Emile Abayisenga, Principal of the Rwanda Polytechnic - Musanze Polytechnic College, and Qian Xiangming, Dean of the Musanze International College of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology(JUVT), accompanied the investigation.
Chen Xiaoping was briefed on the construction and development of the Rwanda Luban Workshop and the learning progress of the first batch of students coming to China under the Future of Africa Plan - China-Africa (Rwanda) Joint Applied Talent Training Program. He pointed out that the cooperation between the two institutions provides skilled talent support for Rwanda's economic and social development and sets a good example for China-Africa friendship. He called for further deepening of school-government, school-enterprise, and school-school cooperation, enhancing "Chinese + vocational" skills education, and advancing the standardization and normalization of vocational education. He expressed hope that both parties would leverage their respective advantages to promote higher-quality development in China-Rwanda vocational education cooperation. During the meeting, both parties also had in-depth discussions on upgrading the Rwanda Luban Workshop, Zhejiang-Rwanda vocational education cooperation, and cultural partnership exchanges.
The delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the Rwanda Luban Workshop and viewed an exhibition showcasing the vocational education cooperation.
During the investigation, Chen Xiaoping and his delegation attentively observed a robotic arm training equipment class conducted by teachers from Intelligent manufacturing college of JUVT for students majoring in Electrical Automation Technology. They highly commended the regular teaching, faculty training, and academic discussions between the two institutions.
It is reported that this investigation by the provincial CPPCC delegation is one of the active measures to implement the spirit of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in the province. Moving forward, JUVT will closely align with the Beijing Action Plan (2025-2027) of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the Joint Statement on Jointly Promoting the Implementation of Three Major Global Initiatives between China and Rwanda. It will continue to deepen the penetration of vocational education into Africa, using Rwanda as a center to radiate to surrounding African countries, serving Zhejiang-Africa production capacity cooperation and Zhejiang-Africa cultural partnership exchanges.
