From August 16 to 28, Waikato International College of Jinhua University of Vocational Technology organized 34 teachers and students to undertake a 12-day summer study tour to the Unitec Institute of Techonology — Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand. Participants attended classes to experience study-abroad life, engaged with local families to immerse themselves in another culture, and connected with industry trends to reimagine their future plans—opening new paths for growth through an immersive overseas learning experience.

New Zealand’s tourism, animal husbandry, and film industries left a deep impression. “Walking into Hobbiton, I felt as if I were in Middle-earth; and visiting a ranch to see the legendary ‘cattle in orderly races’ and ‘helicopter herding of deer’ gave me a firsthand look at the much-talked-about revolution in animal husbandry,” student Zhu shared in a group discussion, drawing enthusiastic responses and wide agreement.

Since 2015, in partnership with the Waikato Institute of Technology, Waikato International College has actively advanced cooperation in research, teaching, and exchanges; offered English-language and intercultural communication enhancement programs benefiting the entire University; and built a Sino–New Zealand language and culture exchange platform to cultivate versatile, multi-field talent through reciprocal visits and friendly exchanges.
